Service Engine Soon
Ich dachte zuerst, daß es eine Anzeige ist die daruf hin weist, daß man wieder einmal eine Inspektion machen sollte; aber weit gefehlt ( wäre auch zu einfach das englische so zu deuten, was die einzelnen Wörter bedeuten ).
Habe im schlauen Handbuch geschaut und gefunden, daß es sich um eine Fehlmessung der Lamda - Sonden handelt, und daß man es durch ein höher wertiges Benzin zum erlischen bringen würde ?!?!?!?!?!

Anderseits, wenn man im www googelt, bekommt man das :

Antwort : NO, the service engine light means that a scheduled service is due. Usuallly this means an oil/filter change. However if the Check Engine light is on this can be serious, and means there is a problem with the emissions controls.
Also von meinen anderen und früherern US-Cars kenne ich nur die gelbe " Check Engine " - Leuchte, die meistens leuchtet, wenn die Abgaswerte nicht mehr stimmen.
Hat das jemand von Euch auch schon `mal gehabt ? Wenn es nur die Service - Leuchte ist, dann muß man diese doch irgendwie quittieren können ??
Einfach den Computer für 5 min vom Strom nehmen, ist ja irgendwie zu simpel .... ( ebenfalls im www gefunden ) :
1) Open the hood of your vehicle. Locate the battery and identify the negative battery terminal. This is the one with the black wire attached to it.
2 ) Slip a flat-head screwdriver under the plastic cover over the terminal and pry it loose.
3 ) Slip a 1/2-inch socket over the horizontal nut on the battery terminal clamp and turn it counterclockwise. If the entire bolt rotates in the terminal housing, hold the square head with a 1/2-inch wrench while turning the nut.
4 ) Loosen the terminal nut intil you see 1/8 inch of space between it and the terminal. Wiggle the terminal back and forth while applying firm upward pressure. Continue doing so until the cable is free of the battery.
5 ) Wrap the terminal in a clean, dry towel or shop rag and set it off to the side of the battery. Leave it there for five minutes. The computer should reset after three, but give it five just to be safe.
6 ) Reinstall the negative cable on the battery and replace the cover.
